This is not your average Leo full moon. The moon is being illuminated with the Sun conjunct expansive Jupiter and restrictive Saturn in Aquarius, whilst make square energy to Uranus and Mars in Taurus.

This combination will most dramatically affect the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.

When the full moon is opposite the Sun and conjunct Jupiter, it is traditionally considered very lucky. With Mars and Uranus's activation, this full moon could bring blessings, luck, and surprises out of the blue.

It is a beautiful time to manifest some big and hopeful wishes on a more psychological level, primarily focusing on you and what you want. What are your hopes and desires, and mostly how you wish to express yourself honestly and what gifts you can bring to the collective?

Given the world's craziness and the seemingly constant focus on the collective, society, politics and how we connect to our fellow humans, this full moon is asking us to spend some time focusing on ourselves. Leo is an expressive, energetic fire sign, and Leo moon energy is very much about' the self.'

We are not being asked to turn our gaze away from the collective and the more significant needs of society at this time, in fact, the very opposite as there is so much energy in the sign of Aquarius, but this full moon reminds us we are connected but equally independent. So, take some time to ask yourself, what do YOU want right now? What is true for you?

Leo rules the heart, so this energy is all about connecting with what is in your heart, expressing your hearts desires, love and wisdom. Use this energy to get in touch with your love for yourself, honour yourself and the magnificence that is you.

On the day of the full moon, do something that celebrates you. Express your creativity, get in touch with your inner child, play a little, whatever it takes to applaud you for you, is what Leo full moons are lovely for.

The Aquarian energy in opposition to the Leo full moon is also asking us to look within, discover what you are being called to do regarding the collective, and shape a new and forward-moving society. What expressive, creative and abundant energy can you bring to this time's collective power, what unique gifts do you have to share with the world, that can genuinely make it a better place?

The abundance of energy we have in the sign of Aquarius is also an excellent time for generating new ideas, innovations and sparks of genius. With Saturn and Jupiter joining the Sun in opposition to the moon, it is possible to set the groundwork and structure to activate some rather revolutionary and evolutionary ideas, both for society as a whole and on an individual basis. Saturn, in particular, is asking what will you be taking forward with you, what are you building that can bring love ( Leo) and change ( Aquarius) to the future?

There are undoubtedly forces for change at play, an awakening of sorts. This could manifest on both personal and collective levels. Signs that will feel it the most are the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo and Scorpio and Aquarius. These are all signs that don't really like change, but there is awakening energy, liberation energy of throwing out the old to make way for the new being asked of them right now. This energy could manifest as something you thought of that was certain, which is now literally being thrown up in the air. The trick is to go with the flow, embrace and get used to it. This will be much easier in the long run than battling against this energy at the moment.

If you have one of these signs predominant in your chart, be proactive, not reactive, take some time during the full moon to examine those habits, or thought patterns that no longer serve you and then spend some time releasing them. Personally, during a Leo full moon, I like to work with fire and write down that which I want to move away from and then burn it…..safely of course.

So this full moon accentuates the astrological energy that has been dominant since the beginning of 2021. This is period where both personally and collectively we are being forced to grow. Uranus is a cosmic awaken-er- bringing forth a blast of fast-moving energy and our emotional selves have to adjust to all of it during and around the period of this full moon.

What you thought was certain might be thrown up in the air. The good news is this is fast-paced energy that can move us forward quickly rather than having a long drawn out process.

None the less many will feel exhausted and potentially overwhelmed at this time, with so much happening so remember to take deep breaths. Mostly, the energies are here to open us up to new pathways, support new ventures, and help bring about new successes.

On a more mundane level, this is also an excellent time for meeting new people and forging new relationships, especially with groups or types of people you would not normally associate with.

Despite the fact there are many restrictions ( Saturn) worldwide right now on physically meeting people, the internet and technology offer us a portal and opportunity to connect with people in a new way. ( Aquarius).

Similarly, the Leo full moon in opposition to Aquarius asks us to honour our 'tribe'. The full moon offers us celebratory energy to honour 'our' people. Unlike traditional family, these are the people who make us genuinely feel great about ourselves and love us for who we are. The full moon energy offers us an opportunity to acknowledge and remind them of our love for them.

Remember, you are being asked to be true to yourself, during this chaotic period and find an inner strength, courage and open hardheartedness that you can share with the world when you are ready. Things to help you do this during the full moon include, getting in touch with your inner child, expressing yourself creatively, playing and having fun just for the sake of it, reciting positive self focused affirmations in the mirror, releasing elements of yourself or within your life, that no longer serve you.

Given we are in Aquarius season, I thought it a good idea to write about my musings on Aquarius energy.

Whether it be your sun sign, moon sign or rising sign, knowing more about the drivers of this air sign may help you understand the Aquarius in your chart or those of your loved ones.

The astrological glyph for Aquarius looks like electrical currents traversing through the ether,( air) sending electric energy to where it is needed. This symbol in its own right tells us much about the sign of Aquarius.

Aquarius is the last of the air signs in the zodiac and focuses less on the individual needs and more on the collective. With an extreme emphasis on socialisation, humanitarian drivers, working for the collective good, bringing tolerance and acceptance to the world and shaking up the status quo for the emergence of the new way.

This energy manifests within the individual with an Aquarius sun, moon or rising sign in various ways.

Aquarius is undoubtedly one of the most 'interesting' of all the signs as they have a penchant for the quirky, unusual, non-traditional. These people consciously or unconsciously prefer to work against the status quo and stir up the pot.

They are fundamentally looking out for the underdog, the disenfranchised and work to change the 'system' for the betterment of all of humanity.

They are the rebels, the people who will not settle for things as they have always been. Even if working in a very conservative environment, the Aquarian will ask the question 'why do we do it this way?' and come up with original ideas, flashes of insights to motivate forward moving change.

The Aquarian mind is quite brilliant, fast, astute and able to make connections to ideas. They initiate original thoughts, and set the seeds for change in society, business practice, or traditional family structures.

When young, Aquarians may well have felt very different from their peer group, like they don't quite fit in, but when older it becomes essential to not be like everyone else and this gives them their sense of pride and purpose. As they grow as a person, the Aquarian is likely to go out of their way to be different and unconventional.

Settling for societies' norms' does not sit well with Aquarian energy. Their nature needs freedom, freedom to express, freedom to move and space to change. Aquarians can not stay in one place for too long, they, in fact, thrive on change and will often be seen instigating change just for change's sake. This is because they can be easily bored and need constant stimulation. However, over stimulation is not good for anyone, and one of Aquarius s most significant challenges is learning to 'be' to relax and learn to go with the flow. Easier said than done, however.

These guys are known to stir things up just for the sake of it, and will often play out the part of the rebel or protagonist in a group situation primarily to feed their need to challenge the status quo and encourage others to do the same.

Aquarius rules technology, science, inventions, all tools that help the collective discover new and exciting ways of moving forward.

The Aquarian appeal is finding new ways to access information that can motivate change and hopefully, a better world. As a fixed air sign, they are often found buried in the back end of a new software system, teaching others on the latest technology applications or inventing the next 'gadget' that can change the world. They have incredibly inventive ideas and will be the first to tell you of a new and better way to do something.

Aquarians collect people, and pride themselves on having a diverse, often eclectic and unusual group of friends or' tribes' to which they feel incredibly connected. They are at their best when they think they are with like-minded people' and often prefer the company of the collective, the group, their friends than that of one on one close and intimate relationships.

Often Aquarian can appear aloof, disconnected and not overly attached; this is primarily due to the fact that they prefer to exist in their head more than in the feeling or emotional nature.

They often feel more comfortable within groups and friends than intimate relationships that may place restrictions on them. They need freedom, which is never more evident than when in intimate relationships. If they can find someone who supports their need for freedom and independence, they are very capable of close relationships. Still, the relationship may be more like 'best friends' than the intensity of some other relationships. When they do, connect to their hearts and marry their head and heart in a passion project, they can become incredibly powerful.

The Sun will move from earthy Capricorn in the air sign of Aquarius on January 20 where it meets heavyweights Saturn and Pluto in Aquarius and jovial opportunistic Jupiter in Aquarius.

These planets together sometimes feel like you are driving a sports car but with the handbrake on. You may be wanting to rush full steam ahead, but caution is called for. Where Jupiter expands, Saturn contracts. So what does that mean for the coming month?

In Astro world, there is much discussion about Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius throughout 2021. Whilst the Sun is also in Aquarius; it is time to set the scene for new ideas, new insights and possibly some revolutionary vibes- the throwing out of the old guard to welcome in the new.

However, Saturn insists we get real about this and offers us the need to be cautious, make sure we set up the structures for change properly rather than rush forward for change just for change sake. Saturn asks us to build the foundations of the change we want to see, get out ducks in a row, get our facts straight first.

Energetically the Sun is conjunct Pluto ( until January 23rd) Saturn ( until February 3rd) and Jupiter ( until February 9th) and will be making a challenging square aspect to Mars in Taurus until (February 15th) and Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius in Taurus ( Until February 2nd). There is no doubt this is a volatile combination and not your usual traversing of the Sun through the sign of Aquarius.

We need to be careful this month that we don't rush full steam ahead with this airy intellect and revolutionary energy, and that we exercise some caution before leaping. The collective power may feel pushy and assertive and in great need for transformation, but this may also manifest as aggressive energy. Obsessions and intensity will run high, especially around the period of the inauguration. I suspect the polarisation we see in the world will continue to divide.

On a personal level getting into political debates with those whose views are different from your own could become rather explosive. People will feel even more compelled to exercise their freedom of expression and voice their ideas loudly, especially around the full moon in Leo in January 28th. Exercise some caution and tolerance. Tolerance is very much an Aquarian energy we should be aspiring to however, I feel that the 'old guard' will be holding on for dear life, determined not to die. The scene will be ripe for taking risks that may not go according to plan.

The full moon on January 28th will be in fiery Leo, making an opposition to the Sun, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn in Aquarius. The full moon in a fire sign may feel like the pot is still being stirred and people may feel more compelled to express their ideas and opinions loudly and dramatically.

At the end of the month, things may die down as Mercury goes retrograde, turning our voices inward rather than exploding in an outward fashion. This will be a great time to reflect on what happens this month and think about what and how we communicate in the world.
