Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Aquarius today.

What does this mean?

Basically it appears as though Mercury is moving backward in the sky. On a symbolic level this means the areas Mercury usually rules over, such as communication, intellect, connection and technology don’t function in their usual way. These areas are now more internalised.

On a practical level mercury moving retrograde can place a serious disruption on how we manage and deal with these aspects on a daily basis. However Mercury retrograde also offers us the opportunity to reflect and internalise this energy rather than actively use it.

When Mercury goes retrograde, we need to be aware that what we wish to communicate may feel restrained or potentially be mis-communicated.. I encourage you therefore to ensure your messages are well thought out, clear and understood by the recipient. This period is rife with the potential for misunderstandings and given it is in the sign of Aquarius, this could certainly manifest with friends and groups.

Technology can frustrate us more than usual with Mercury retrograde. This is the period in which your lap top decides to have a malfunction, the software you rely on suddenly has glitches and you experience delays in all manners of transportation. I highly recommend checking your car is in good working order at this time.

Being aware of these energies can lessen our frustration as we are certainly in line to experience all kinds of unexpected and unplanned events, the best advice is to attempt to just go with the flow of it all.
